Earlobe keloids can be unilateral and bilateral. A bilateral earlobe keloid grows on either side of the earlobe and is called a dumbbell keloid. As a result of various manipulations, such as taking a biopsy, surgical removal or laser treatment, earlobe keloids begin to grow rapidly, increasing 3-4 times compared to the original size.
