Treatment of road traffic accident scars is directly related to the age of the scar. The younger scar, the easier it is for treatment and the less visible it becomes after treatment. The optimal time to start treating a fresh scar is from 2-3 weeks after the injury to 6 months. Later, scars become harder and less amenable to treatment.
